Tamsin Greig to Voice Roobarb and Custard

by Book Frog

We are SO EXCITED! Tamsin Greig will be the voice of our Roobarb and Custard AppBooks!

Earlier this month Box of Frogs Media revealed the exciting collaboration with A&B TV and Bulldog Licensing to produce a series of Roobarb and Custard interactive appbooks. They’ve now confirmed the narrator for the interactive storybook apps as Tamsin Greig, the much acclaimed  British actress.

The original 1970s cartoon was narrated by the late Richard Briers and although much of the voice-over still exists, a creative decision was made to release the forthcoming apps with a new voice, but Box of Frogs maintain they will pay homage to the great actor with pre-recorded sound bites throughout the book.

Tamsin Greig,  not only known for her TV roles in the popular series:  Episodes, Friday Night Dinner, Black Books  and Green Wing but also brings her extensive television drama, film, radio and award winning theatre roles to the project, making her a perfect fit for the Roobarb and Custard books.

“We are delighted to include Tamsin as part of our Roobarb & Custard family and look forward to working with her on this exciting new project.” says Adam Sharp, head of A&B TV.

Tamsin will voice all 3 new appbooks that bring together original script, animations and interactive narratives with the new digital format. With the first book planned to coincide with Roobarb and Custard’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Box of Frogs are delighted to be a part of such a high profile birthday!

“We are incredibly excited to be working on such an iconic brand, I watched and loved Roobarb and Custard as a boy and can’t wait to bring the digital stories to a new generation of fans” says CEO Ben Simpson.
